Monocacy River Pottery, formerly Monocacy Pottery, is located in Thurmont, Maryland and is situated on the banks of the scenic Monocacy River. The pottery houses two John Thies manabigama kilns as well as a large three chamber Noborigama.

The pottery is owned and operated by Marsha Mason-Thies,

who is operating it as a center for wood firing workshops and

workshops with visiting artists.

Wood firing workshops will be run and managed by

Bruce Bowers, a potter from Maryland who has extensive

experience firing the 2 manabigama kilns that are at the pottery.
